Field Trip!
May 15, 2009Fun times! I was the official 6th grade “water boy” today for Emily’s school field trip to Western Playland. I walked around all day holding all the water bottles, sun screen, stuffed animals, & purses. Of course I had to snap a few pictures! Emily loved the rides and had a great time. And even though it was no Kings Island, it was a very nice day and it was fun watching the kids having so much fun!

Bungee Boy!
February 5, 2009I am so glad I was not there! Jen and family recently took a weekend trip to enjoy some of the newly fallen NY snow. And Ethan, snowboarder in training had a great time! Check out these pictures…
I loved them all…except for the Bungee Boy picture – too much excitement for Ra-Ra!

Starting out behind… Not a good sign for 2009!
January 12, 2009Well it’s January 11th and I am just now getting around to updating my blog with all the Christmas festivities… So much for my “staying on top of things” resolution. Oh well, I knew it was a long shot anyway!
This Christmas was a blast with all the kids home…almost all were home, Alex is still tracting away in the Philippines. But he was definitely in our thoughts and we did get to talk to him on Christmas Eve. So that was great! Below are some shots of the grandsons playing, munching, watching movies, and of course with Santa!

Bert and Granny Visit El Paso!
September 15, 2008Robert and Mom both visited us here in El Paso a few weeks ago! Mom was bringing Emily back from her summer stay in KY and Robert decided to make the trip from the West Coast to see us all. It was such fun, although we haven’t really found many exciting things to do in El Paso yet. But it was good have Em home and visit with Mom and little brother!

Grandsons on the Grow…
September 14, 2008Time to catch up on the boys! Seems these two little tots are growing so fast, I’m having a really hard time keeping up with their adventures and travels. Here’s a few cute pics of all the fun happening in and around Jersey City and in Nashville…and beyond!
This first picture is of Ethan’s trip to the beach on Labor Day. Just too much fun! He needed a little siesta!
So while Ethan was napping on the shores of the Atlantic; Lincoln was vacationing on the Pacific!
Ethan playing with Daddy (Mike) in the Atlantic sand and Lincoln playing with Mommy (Chemenn) in the Pacific sand…. How weird… grandsons on the opposite sides of the country! And I can enjoy and share all the fun from right here in sunny, windy El Paso!
Thanks to Jen and Chemenn for sending and sharing the pics! Click Here to see more of Lincoln’s travels and adventures!

Sundown over the Franklin Mountains
June 11, 2008Update – Changed blog theme – need more space for pictures. Check back soon for beautiful shot of El Paso sunset. Need to upload again.
The above picture was a shot taken off the back porch in El Paso. We caught the sun just as it was creeping behind the mountains and creating catus shadows…just beautiful! Great shot, JB!

Ethan visits KY!
March 25, 2008I was going through my pictures and came across these of Jen & family when they visited us before the “big move”! Can’t believe I forgot to get them posted! That Ethan is talking so much and is such a flirt! He’s growing into quite a little boy now, with that blond hair and mischeivous smile, such a doll! He especially loved Ollie’s play house and Granny’s chocolate cupcakes!

We’re Here….Sunny El Paso!
March 25, 2008Well, we finally made it to El Paso. Actually we’ve been here a couple of weeks, but I’m just now getting around to posting some pictures. It’s very sunny and warm down here! We left KY in a snow storm and we’ve not had a cloudy day since we’ve been here. Well, except for the sand storm, it’s been beautiful weather. The mornings and evenings are cool, but during the day it’s very nice….hitting about 80 degrees! I guess that’s why they call El Paso the “Sun City”.
Here are some pictures we’ve taken so far. We’re hoping to venture out more pretty soon and will get more pictures posted.

The Best Weekend of the Year!
August 31, 2007Wincheser, KY
Home Sweet Home
Labor Day weekend has to be the best weekend of the year! There are festivals, picnics, travel, family, and FUN! But I like it best because it is the introduction weekend to the fabulous season of Fall. The weather is expected to just about perfect this weekend and I can’t wait to browse through all the craft booths at our local Pioneer Festival. I can smell the funnel cakes now! Plus, the Festival is a wonderful place to meet old friends and gather families together. We usually stroll the sidewalks at College Park and run into dozens of old school mates and cousins we haven’t seen for years. The Festival has grown into a huge event with thousand of attendees from all over. It seems to be a time when everyone comes home, relaxes, visits, eats some wonderful junk food and have a nice ice-cold Ale8! And for an added bonus this year, we’re hitting the road to Nashville to visit the Lincolnater and family! This is definately the best weekend of the year!

Still Remembering….
August 7, 2007The sign reads “The Heros of September 11, 2001″…
On our recent trip to NY, we had the opportunity to view Ground Zero for ourselves. I cannot adequately express what I was feeling standing there reading the names of all the heros. There is huge fence blocking off the site due to the construction in progress, but even with all the noise and hustle and bustle of the subway below, I found myself re-living that day and remembering the horror and shock I felt as I witnessed the events as they were unfolding on TV that day. Soon there will be new buildings and structures erected to memorialize those heros whose names were on the signs. But for now, we are all still remembering and grieving.
